Taking care of your skin
Okay
Girls so the number one question that most of you ask is, "What makes
make up look great?" So here is one of my many tips that we will explore
together.
Great make up starts with great skin. It’s so important to take care of your skin, Now I know most of you will say “I don’t have time to look after my skin”, but its imperative to make it part of your daily routine, just as you take a shower and brush your teeth every day.
Great make up starts with great skin. It’s so important to take care of your skin, Now I know most of you will say “I don’t have time to look after my skin”, but its imperative to make it part of your daily routine, just as you take a shower and brush your teeth every day.
The
basic steps in taking care of your skin is simple - Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize, morning and
evening, It’s also a plus if you ladies purchase an eye cream, because as
we get "younger" (ha ha), those fine lines under the eye just
seem to find their way there (perhaps from those late nights of partying,
to not sleeping cause of a crying baby), trust me I’ve been there.
So
let’s take it step by step.
Cleanse
Cleanse
To
remove your make up you should either use a cream cleanser then wash your
face with a face wash.
Tone
It’s
really important to use a toner, as it helps remove any make up you may have missed
after cleansing and it also helps to minimize the appearance of small pores on
the skin over time. Apply toner with a piece of cotton,
Moisturize
It
is suggested that you have two moisturizers - one for day and one for night
time. Try to use a moisturizer during the day with an SPF - it helps prevent
your skin from premature aging from the sun. Your day moisturizer is often
light in texture, while your night cream should be fuller in texture as at
night the skin replenishes itself and the fullness of the cream can help in
making skin supple while you sleep.
When
applying moisturizer always apply in an upward motion, NEVER in a downward
motion (gravity already does a job of pulling our skin down as we age).
A
lot of women ask about the necessity of eye cream. My answer is, it can’t hurt.
The skin around and under our eyes are as thin and fragile as kite paper
so we need to take extra care of this area. When applying eye cream just take a
little of the product and pat it under the eyes in a clockwise motion.
Now
I know the first thing a lot of you will say is that it sounds like this is
gonna cost me a a lot of money and it gonna take too much time. As far as
the money aspect goes girls, I suggest you use a product within your
budget, because using something is better than using nothing at all. And about
the TIME issue - we make time for other people all day long, so we could take 5 minutes morning and evening
for YOU, right? ‘Cause let’s face it when your skin looks good and you like
what you see in the mirror then you automatically feel good,
For those of you that want to maybe have a little pampering time, I suggest you have a facial done at least once a month as it really leaves you feeling rejuvenated, like a new you, plus it’s great for your skin.
