         Sneak peak:

My name is Daniel Tuesday. I’m a private detective. That’s the reason I’m stuck at the moment in a window on the second floor of a downtown office building. The lady pushing me from behind trying to help get me through the window is the other reason I’m in this tight spot. She’s my latest client, Ann Randail. I’ve been working on her case for the last three weeks.

I suppose now is not the time to be regretting that I’ve been slacking off my weight loss plan. But, as I contract my stomach muscles in a vain attempt to make my middle section the size of Vin Diesel’s, I can’t help but think that if I’d been sticking with my diet and my twice weekly walk, I’d definitely be out this window and long gone before the police, who have just stormed into the room, had a chance to get here.

This is the police. Stay right where you are!

Usually, at this point I’d be disregarding that order and running like hell, but under the circumstances, I think I’ll stay put. Ms. Randail drops my legs and shrieks like a lark.

Ok folks. Don’t make any funny moves. Put any weapons you’re carrying on the ground, slowly. NOW!

I’d know that voice anywhere.

“Don’t shoot, it’s Tuesday” I say.

Another voice I’m not familiar with says “What? What the hell does shooting you in the butt for breaking and entering have anything to do with the day of the wee ---?”

Then the familiar voice interrupts.

“Tuesday!” I should have known.”
